Edward's Fish-A-Thon for Water Mission

Fish-A-Thon for Water Mission · 2 January 2021
Like fish, every human being needs access to safe water to survive. After reading A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park in my 7th
grade English Language Arts Class this year, I realized how hard clean water is for 2.2 billion people in our world to come by and how the search for it can lead to tribal warfare and a lot of suffering and loss. I decided to use one of the things I love best – fishing in the pond in my neighborhood – to bring awareness to the global water crisis and raise money for a great nonprofit organization, Water Mission, whose goal is to build safe water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions in developing countries and disaster areas. I know the people who
run Water Mission, and I’ve toured their facility twice. They help bring one of the most crucial resources to people around the world who are in desperate need of it. Their water systems save a lot of lives and
help end a lot of suffering and sickness. They allow kids who used to spend all day walking for water for their families to spend that time going to school instead. Please consider sponsoring my one hour fish-a-thon by signing up at the excel sheet here. (You could also leave a comment below if that's an easier way for you to say you want to sponsor me.) For every fish I catch during my one hour fish-a-thon, you can decide what donation to make. Thank you for helping support this important cause!
