East Cheshire Hospice provides essential care, support and compassion to local adults facing life limiting illnesses. We rely on fundraising to pay for over 80% of our daily costs, and so you can be sure your support will make a huge difference to our patients, their families and loved ones.

Story

Click here to see a short documentry on the work East Cheshire Hospice does.

My amazing sister passed away on the 21st August 2015 after a long battle with cancer.

She was such a strong, funny and positive person and could see the best in everyone, and inspired us all in some form or other.

Jessica was completely selfless. Giving her all for everyone and everything. She even ran a Tough Mudder after her second bout of cancer! She was nothing short of incredible, and the wave of tributes our family has recieved shows just how much she will be missed.

For some of the final weeks of Jessica's life, she was staying at East Cheshire Hospice. They take in terminal patients from our local area, and offer the most incredible care you could imagine.

The charity requires £7500 every day of every year. 80% of the funding is raised publicly! However the portion of funding from the government is due to be cut this coming year; making extra fundraising all the more crucial.

Here is a brief explanation of the work East Cheshire Hospice does in the community...

Putting patients and families first

When it comes to our patients and their families, nothing is too much trouble for the caring and compassionate staff at East Cheshire Hospice. We take time to see beyond the patient’s condition to the whole person and their family, caring for your physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. We’re here to help you carry the load, giving you the time and space to be a family in an embracing and respectful environment.

Nestled in a quiet residential area of Macclesfield, many people are pleasantly surprised by the light and airy Hospice building with its friendly atmosphere and plenty of smiling and laughter. As well as our 15-bed inpatient unit, one-third of our patients are outpatients, carers and family members, attending various support groups and 1-to-1 appointments in our dedicated Sunflower Centre.

Many more support services

Families may be involved with the Hospice for a number of days, weeks, months or years, depending on the progression of the patient’s illness and the services they choose to use. As well as specialist medical care, pain relief, symptom control and respite care, we offer many more support services. From carers support groups to complementary therapies, legal and financial advice, all our services are provided free of charge thanks to the daily support from our community.

So with that in mind - rest assured - any money we can raise for such an amazing organisation will help bring peace to more families for more years to come...

Many thanks,

Edward
