I am a student at Uganda Christian University, Mukono, near Kampala, hoping to become a teacher of geography. My family is my father and younger sister, and to help my father, I raise money for our college and school fees through making and selling bricks for buildings.

My sister and I love running. I run for the University and have taken part in the World University Cross Country championships in 2014 where the Uganda team came second only to Kenya, Africa University Cross Country championships in 2013 and the East Africa University games in 2012 in Dar es Salaam. Every year since 2006 I have also taken part in the Kampala MTN marathon running the 10k distance. I love my running, for the fitness, the challenge and the company. I would love to run internationally for my country, but in the meantime I try any opportunity to improve my skill.

My mum, Janifer Nansubuga, was treated for throat cancer in 2004 at Mulago Hospital, Kampala. So I want to run the 10k race at the Uganda International Marathon in May so to support the work of Uganda Cancer Trust at the hospital where my mum sadly passed away.

I aim to raise at least £1500 for Uganda Cancer Trust projects. Please will you give me your support and at the same time help the work of the Palliative Care volunteers in their support for cancer patients at Mulago and the Uganda Cancer Institute?
