Story

Sometimes in life something touches you so deeply that you feel compelled to challenge yourself in a bid to try and raise some money to help others who may find themselves in an unimaginable situation. Please take time to read the next few paragraphs written from the heart by Megan’s mummy Kelly 💕

Megan, our beautiful little girl, lost her battle against a large tumour invading her right lung on 2nd January 2019, aged 2 years, 11 months and 6 days. She fought for 21 days.

Everyone hears of families suffering the worst, no one expects it to be them. I’ve been that parent who hears these tragedies and says how lucky we are, we should be so thankful, I’m not so thankful right now.  This tragedy has struck home and we find ourselves in no man’s land, unable to move on and leave anything behind that reminds us of our little girl, unable to stay where we are as time moves on relentlessly.

When the darkest of days hit, we had to travel across the country to get the best help for Megan.  The stress of this was immediately taken away by the hospital who sourced us accommodation in Ronald McDonald House, Glasgow. Without their help we would be facing some difficult decisions at a time when we had enough of them elsewhere. They provided us with the accommodation, a two minute walkfrom the hospital where we were as close to Megan as we could be.  And as the worst day of all unfolded, they let us take our time, letting us stay as long as we liked, knowing we did not want to leave our little girl.

Without their support we would have been lost, and without the support of all of us they would be lost. This amazing reasource is only possible with our support. I learned, in there, that the Glasgow House does not receive funding from the donations in McDonald’s, they have to fundraise on their own.

What Elaine is doing this year for us is up there with sainthood. Help us make it worthwhile and give to her amazing cause, remembering my Meggy at every step.  Help families like mine in their darkest hour.

I am certainly not in line with any saint but thanks Kelly 👍🏻 please if you can donate to help families like the Clarkson’s it would be most appreciated and if you fancy getting the trainers on and being a buddy I would love that. Thanks for taking the time to read their story 💕
