On 22nd April 2018, I will be running the London Marathon in support of Plan International. This will be a huge personal challenge for me, having never run marathon distances before, however running for such an amazing cause is helping me find the motivation and commitment to train for race day & put my all into it.

My training may be tough, but I have to put things into perspective - I can come home from a run and jump into a hot shower, eat a nutritious meal, and relax in my own home. I have had the privilege of a comfortable upbringing, education, equal opportunities to my brothers, and take for granted that I have always felt safe in my surroundings.

There are many children in the world, especially girls, who have not had the same luxuries, let alone basic opportunities or human rights. Plan International works with children in some of the most affected countries to advance their rights, keep them safe & provide them with access to education, healthcare, clean water & sanitation. Plan particularly works to improve equality in countries where girls' are still not afforded basic human rights & suffer unimaginable pain and degradation from society.
