Fundraising for QEH Maternity Bereavement Suite

Ellie Anderson is raising money for The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn Charitable Fund

Polly and Robyn's sponsored scoot · 29 January 2021

Create a dedicated facility, away from the maternity suite, for families who sadly lose their babies either during or shortly after birth at The QEH, King's Lynn. This will give a place to spend time with their babies and create special memories.

Story

The idea of the Maternity Bereavement Suite is to provide a dedicated and welcoming facility for families from our community who sadly lose their babies either during, or shortly after, birth and give them the opportunity to create precious memories. Having an allocated facility will make such a positive difference to the experience of our parents when they are going through their most difficult time after their loss. This development will help these families to spend time with their babies in a more homely environment away from the maternity suite.

As a family we are really active, and at the moment going for a walk and getting fresh air is the highlight of our day! So Polly (9) and Robyn (7) decided they wanted to put this time to good use and do a sponsored scoot. This is to raise money for the new maternity bereavement suite which has been affected by COVID, and desperately needs money in order to support families.

Over the next 2 weeks they will be aiming to do 30 miles on their scooters in the local area, closely followed by me, their baby sister and our dog. So if anyone sees them please give them a wave of encouragement! This is a big challenge as they actually only have 8 days in the next 2 weeks to do this as they want to do every mile together as a team.

Please give whatever you can to support them and raise money for the maternity bereavement suite.
