We support people with aphasia to enhance their lives and raise awareness

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Last September I started a two-year Masters in Speech and Language Therapy.  Consequently, this year myself, fellow students and staff will be running for a charity called The North-East Trust for Aphasia (NETA) which supports people with aphasia and their carers.

Aphasia means difficulties with communication, often following stroke. The person with aphasia can have problems speaking, understanding, reading and writing. This can have major effects for both the person and their family in terms of social life, work and relationships. NETA also works to raise awareness of Aphasia to the public, due to the limited awareness of this acquired communication disorder.

Any sponsorship money would be appreciated two-fold to make it all worth it! Speech and Language Therapists do much more than people assume - help me to spread the word of the impact that therapy makes, as well as ensuring charities such as NETA are able to carry on the amazing work that they do.

(Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity.)
