In memory of Chelsea Lakeman
We fund additional respite care in Oxon to children with life-limiting illness

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

I am running the Oxford half marathon to raise money for the Oxford ROSY charity in memory of a very special girl, Chelsea Lakeman.

ROSY helps the families of children in Oxfordshire with severe disability, chronic or terminal illness.  They fund:

Respite nursing care at home for children, by respite nurses and health care assistants

Equipment to improve the quality of life for families who are looking after a disabled or sick child.

A counseling service for families affected by having a child with a severe disability or illness

This charity helped Chelsea to have the best quality of  life possible in her own home, with her family. It also enabled her to go to school, special events and much more. They also reduced the amount of time Chelsea needed to spend in hospital meaning that chest infections (as an example) could be treated in the comfort of her own home with her special team of carers.
