Melanoma UK is a registered charity established in 2012, focused on raising awareness of melanoma (a form of skin cancer) and supporting those affected by it. The charity works to increase prevention through education and provide support to those working in diagnosis, treatment and research.

Story

As most of you know on the 11th October 2017 our dad lost his short fight with Melanoma (skin cancer) which brings me to writing this.

Throughout the 6 months that this horrific form of cancer gripped and changed our families life forever we had some help and support from the charity that we are fund raising for, Melanoma UK.

They offered a grant to assist with travel whilst dad was under going several forms of treatment at the Royal Marsden. Receiving things like these grants help dramatically at a time when your life has been turned upside down and even though a terminal diagnosis put things into perspective in terms of what is important, bills still need paying and so now its our turn to give back.

Anyone that knows me knows I can just about run a bath so the Manchester 10k on Sunday 20th May 2018 is going to be like a marathon to me. I will be joined by 21 runners which consist of friends, family and work colleagues to make my dad proud and give back.

Any donations large or small would be greatly appreciated...

See you at the finish line
