Maccabi Community Fun Run 10km · 23 May 2010
Hi,
My name is Eli Smus and I am a 19 year old university student. I have decided to run the Maccabi Community Fun Run, which is 10km long, in aid of Camp Simcha. Having worked with special needs children in the past, I have realised the necessity for funding for such an integral community based organisation.
Although i was meant to do the 10 km run, unfortunately I tore a ligament in my knee 2 weeks before the run. However I decided to do the 1km run on crutches! Thank G-d it went very well and i managed to finish with a time of under 6 minutes. Please help me reach my target by dontaing now.
Reasons why you should sponsor me for Camp Simcha:
When a child has a serious illness, unforgettable experiences have the power to lift spirits and to give vital strength and energy for the challenges that lie ahead. It's a simple goal and it's the reason Camp Simcha exists - to improve the quality of life of Jewish children with any serious illness, such as Cancer, Muscular Dystrophy, Dysautonomia and so on, and to provide them with the unforgettable experiences that they and their families deserve.
But it's not just the children who require their support. The pressures and anguish of caring for a seriously ill child also takes its toll on their parents and any brothers and sisters. Now, thanks to the dedication and efforts of some incredible volunteers, and the support of patrons and friends, Camp Simcha UK is steadily growing, to do very special things for many more very special children.
Offering their unique services free of charge to every sector of the community, irrespective of religious observance, their aim is to ensure that the life of every Jewish child in the UK who suffers from a life threatening illness is enhanced by Camp Simcha. To achieve that ambition, each and every one of the Camp Simcha family gives their heart and soul, because they know that a smile really does make a difference.
Many Thanks
Eli Smus
