We are 17 years old Students.who have recently participated in NCS in the 2020 Autumn half term for five days in during which time we learnt about social action and helping those in unfortunate circumstances. It was highlighted to us that  we can contribute to empower communities in many ways such as  through volunteering, giving money, and even community action.

After looking at our local Community and thinking about those in need, we decided to choose  Georgia’s Gift because it touches us personally. 

Georgia’s Gift was set up in September 2018 and it’s sole purpose it help families grieving after the loss of a baby. Although being relatively new, they have managed to fundraise for a local neo natal charity and give small grants for expenses to families following the unplanned death of a baby via professional referral. This aid, has helped many at a time of crisis with not only the grief of losing a child but also with the unexpected financial costs which arises during this time, not forgetting the emotional support offered too.. 

Logistically, the Charity focuses on helping families close to where we live, working in a range of boroughs within South London. 

We believe that with the outbreak of Covid-19 Charities such as Georgia’s Gift deserve more support, funding and recognition. Hence, we are dedicated to ensuring that our efforts have a positive outcome not only financially but also helps to spread the word around about the immense work this beautiful small Charity is doing.
