Cardiff Half Marathon 2019 · 6 October 2019 ·
Thank you so much for visiting my JustGiving page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research in memory of my Dad, Ian and I'd be so grateful for your support.
In November 2008, I returned home from University a few days ahead of my Dad's 60th birthday when he suffered a fatal heart attack. We have since discovered that our family inherits a genetic heart condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. This is a condition that can affect anyone and strike in the blink of an eye without any prior warning, with truly devastating and life changing consequences. The work of the BHF in attempting to find a cure to this condition is therefore absolutely vital.
So I've decided to take on the challenge of Cardiff Half Marathon to raise awareness and funds towards life saving research. I'm doing this for Dad and for future generations who will benefit from BHF's research into genetic heart conditions.
I've been training alongside my amazing sister in law, Kelly, who is raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) in memory of my Mum who passed away in 2011. Neither of us have entered a race before so this will be a massive challenge. We've joined a local running club and have been running the streets of Bridgend over the last few months in order to train for October 6th, 2019.
Any donations, no matter how small, will be greatly received.
Thank you Xx
