Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am moving to Rwanda in January 2013 to volunteer with VSO - I will be based in the North of Rwanda and will be training teachers in child-centered methods of learning. This will be based in a teacher training centre but will also involve outreach work (on a motorbike!) to rural schools.

VSO is a international development charity who send volunteers with their time and skills instead of money to work in long term, sustainable projects. They work with NGO's (non-governmental organisations such as UNICEF) and the government in a country. Most placements are for 2 years and VSO have long term commitments in each country they work in. I am fundraising not for my specific placement, but raising money so that VSO can continue its development work across the sectors of - education, health, agriculture, disability, participation, securing livelihoods and HIV and AIDS programmes.
