The country I came from is not the most advanced in cancer research and treatment and care. There is still a stigma on people who got affected by cancer and it is not the subject widely discussed in public or media. My mum and sister went through the state funded cancer hospital and were treated appallingly badly: starting from the low level of medical care, misdiagnosis, unnecessary surgery in one case or delayed treatment in the other, rude behavior of medical senior personnel, inability to buy necessary medicines, and woeful conditions of the wards as they were in WW2 barracks.

Although, Breast Cancer Care cannot directly help people outside the UK, I am hoping that one day, health professionals from Russia or other countries will learn and will be led by example of this charity.
