Friday 13^th 2019 my sister, Magdalen Berns died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family from brain cancer; glioblastoma (grade 4).  That peace enabled by the outstanding care of the Edinburgh Marie Curie Hospice and Community Team. 

Marie Curie ensured Magdalen’s last weeks on Earth were full of peace and love.  Nothing was too much, no request too onerous and no wish too difficult to fulfil- I personally can’t thank them enough. 

Staff worked tireless to support and assist Magdalen enjoy her remaining days, attending to her medical needs and personal wishes. Her family and friends will be forever grateful to Marie Curie.  Magdalen frequently commented on how she wished everyone could have access to such services and how nice everyone was.
