London to Brighton Trek 2014 · 21 June 2014 to 22 June 2014 ·

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Ok, so you've probably seen the numerous posts on facebook about how far I've walked.  Its not because I have nothing better to do with my time or showing off but all part of a very long and boring training plan to hike from London to Brighton on behalf of the British Heart Foundation.

Now a lot of people have said "Well its just walking, not really a challenge" and trust me, at first I thought it wouldn't be that daunting.. and I'm a strong walker but the last few months have shown how hard it is. Not only that its takes hours and hours of time to train but once you get to 30 odd miles, its not the fitness side but the sheer pain in your feet and muscles and hips.  I wouldn't mind as 30 is a quite an achievement but then to think that there is another 35 to go...

"Oh *insert swear word here*....."

But every step we take (Me and the other unlucky guys at work I have conned into doing this!), every beat our hearts take and when our heart rate increases as we tackle the rolling hills, I'm thinking just how lucky I am to have a very healthy heart and how many people do not have this luxury and are taken from us far too soon.  Most of us will be touched by someone who has suffered with ill effects of there heart and the British Heart foundation are fighting for every heart beat to stop one of the biggest killers in the UK, Coronary Heart Disease.

So I'm looking to get as much help as possible to help them..  So please dig deep in your heart and spread some love (profound hey!).

Thanks in advance, I appreciate every penny.  It will be my motivation for every painful step taken, and trust me, there will be a lot!
