Story
I committed to doing something for charity every year as of last year but this year never did I think I would be doing it for my entire world, my dad.
In October 2018 the devastating C word ripped through my family again but this time attacking my everything, my life, my bestest ever friend, my pops, my dad. I cannot explain to you enough how much the news broke my heart, I felt like my whole world was falling apart around me.
Everyone who knows me knows my dad really is my world, I feel so lucky to have him as my best friend and I can’t tell you how the thought of him not being here anymore absolutely rips me in pieces.
Let me tell you about my pops, Ian Boyle. The LIFE AND SOUL of the party, the jack the lad, never without a smile on his face but most of all the best dad I could ever wish for. I share some of my best memories in my life with my dad and I’m so grateful for the time, love and effort he gives me every single day.
My decision to do this Tough Muddy 10 Mile Run is simple, to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to all of the Macmillan Staff at the Leicester Royal Infirmary, without them and the NHS providing all the support they have we really wouldn’t of got through the treatment period or the aftermath.
My dad isn’t fully out of the woods yet, treatment is finished, he’s rang the bell and is in recovery. His (HOPEFULLY) final scan will be in April and the hopeful news will be that he is all clear.
This will be hard, I will probably cry the whole route and moan about my legs aching or that I’m filthy covered in mud but what I’m doing is NOTHING compared to what my pops has been through.
I beg anyone reading this to give as much or as little as they can to this fantastic cause, they honestly may have saved my dad’s life with the amazing treatment and support.
Dad has faced the hardest time in his life but he WILL be back, WE WILL be back in full force stronger than ever.
F*CK YOU CANCER, YOU WONT RUIN MY FAMILY AGAIN!!!
This is for you my pops, I Love You. Xxx
