Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am taking part in diabetic for a day to help raise awareness of type one diabetes, to help the fight to find a cure and to show those with diabetes they are not alone. I am hoping to help break down some of the stigma as well as raising my own and others around me awareness.

On world diabetes day (14 November) I will be taking part in this challenge which will involve carrying my phone with me for the day and being 'diabetic' for 24 hours. I will receive instructions throughout the day of what to do and will essentially be living a simulation of a typical type one's day. The day I will be living will be based on a real day in the life story of someone with type one.  I will be documenting the day including the 'tests' and 'injections' which will be marks made in red pen, and sharing the experience of what it could be like living with diabetes type one.

I have met several people in the last few years with diabetes type one, and am very aware how it can make those who have to live with it feel. One of those I have the pleasure of knowing despite living with type one diabetes and having good and bad days even on a bad day nothing is too much and who goes out of their way to help people daily without expecting anything in return. This is just one small way for me to help.
