After running the distance on the day alone last year, the time has come to run the actual Great North Run event this year on the 12th September!

Like most small charities, COVID has had a financial effect on Castaway! Since March 2020, we have had to be creative when it comes to fundraising and have been unable to do our usual face to face fundraising events. Our members and their families have found themselves in hard times too and I want to allow there to be extra money to support membership costs and go towards anything extra we need to help our members through this uncertain time.

We are still meeting on zoom, and would love to continue this work to ensure that our members feel connected and can still be creative in the uncertain times ahead. 

Training has not gone as well as it did last year... but I am still determined to run the distance on the day and to raise as much money as possible to ensure that people with learning difficulties and disabilities can still be creative, socialise and be a part of Castaway.
