I am travelling to India in July to volunteer with the HOPE Foundation, which is a fantastic charity that vastly improves the lives of thousands of children that live in slums or on the streets. These children are the poorest of the poor and most of us can't even imagine what they have gone through in their short lives so far. Most are not in school and have poor health. Many children are abandoned and are at high risk of abuse, exploitation and child trafficking. Over 250,000 children are forced to live on the streets of Kolkata. Around five million people live in horrific conditions in slums. They do not have clean water; children are often hungry and disease is common.

HOPE reaches out to these children and offers them protection, healthcare and education to improve their lives forever. there is no question that these children deserve more support.

All donations received from this page and from all my fundraising are sent directly to HOPE for use in their numerous projects in Kolkata.
