Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am on a mission to raise some money for Birmingham's Heartlands Hospital Haematological Cancer Unit - Ward 19....and I hope you can help.

The outstanding staff in this department really do devote everything to the poorly patients here which I have witnessed first hand when my wonderful step-dad was unfortunately diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer last year.

He spent many months here, along with my family by his bedside. He has done amazingly well and is now back home and is currently an out-patient at the ward, going in every so often for chemotherapy.

However, he wouldn't still be here with us without the heroic staff and incredible facilities this ward provides - the least I can do is give a little something back.

I am currently training to take part in the Tough Mudder Half Midlands on May 14th 2016 - the leading 8 kilometre military-style obstacle course challenge in the world.

It tests mental as well as physical strength and plays on common human fears such as fire, water, electricity and heights. An average 78% of entrants successfully complete the full Tough Mudder course.

I have never done anything like this before, but I am determined to be complete it - because my challenge is nothing compared to someone who has to fight cancer every day. I am also determined to do it for our dad.

I appreciate even the smallest donation or share on social media - every little helps in the fight against cancer.

Thank you :)
