Twenty-one million people have been affected by flooding in Pakistan; millions have been left homeless and thousands of children are now at risk of starvation.
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an independent humanitarian medical aid organisation. MSF teams in Pakistan are working round the clock to help victims of the floods. They are running mobile health clinics so that they can reach people who have no chance of getting to a health centre. They are also providing medical services and clean water to hospitals and drinking water and hygiene kits to affected communities to prevent outbreaks of disease. 1,100 children have also now been treated for malnutrition by MSF medics. However with more than 100,000 children under the age of five at risk of dying in the next six months due to severe malnutrition, much work is still to be done.
Please support us running the Birmingham Half-Marathon, and help to raise much-needed funds for this worthy cause.
