My younger bro Piers has Cerebral Palsy, a disability caused by lack of Oxygen during birth which leads to brain damage. This affects motor control, so day to day challenges include chewing and swallowing food, walking, showering etc.

The staff at Chigwell Riding Trust (and horses) are largely volunteers, and have had a hugely positive impact on the physical abilities that Piers now has. 

He is able to walk to and from the high street to go shopping - unaided if he wants to, he is able to hold himself upright, and basically given him and countless others their independence, which I know so many families can never give enough praise and thanks to!
