On 17 March 2019, Jono - our friend and colleague - passed away in his home surrounded by his family. Jono was aged just 33 and had fought fearlessly against cancer since he was diagnosed in late 2017.

From the moment I met Jono, his enthusiasm, his warmth and his kindness to all were evident. He made me feel immediately comfortable in a new office, a new job and a new city - that was Jono. He greeted everyone with a wide smile, a warm hug and an tenacity and intelligence which made a huge impact on everything he touched in the workplace.

I'm doing this walk for Jono, for his family, for those who will benefit or have benefitted from Macmillan in the same way my loved ones and I have over the years.

I'm doing this for my Nan, my Grandpa, my Auntie Janet, my Uncle Jim, my honorary Grandpa Gil, all of whom lost their lives to cancer and filled this world with the same passion, love and selfless compassion and kindness that Jono lived by.
