BUPA Great North Run 2013 · 15 September 2013 ·

Epilepsy Action is creating a world without limits for everyone affected by epilepsy, connecting people with others, and providing support and information you can trust. We’re calling out the misunderstanding, prejudice and barriers that stop people with epilepsy living their best life.

Story

Having been a very reluctant excerciser for years, one day in April I decided to go out for a run. The only time I ever really ran was when I was late for work or to the fridge when I was hungry.

After the run I felt amazing and actually looked forward to going again. Surprised that I enjoyed it, I ended up applying to do the Great North Run.

Recently I have been involved in epilepsy training for children and I was moved by the extent of what some epilepsy sufferers have to deal with. Knowing a child with epilepsy spurred me on to find out more about the condition.

Epilepsy Action help to raise awareness about epilepsy, provide settings such as schools with excellent training in caring for children with the condition, support people who are newly diagnosed and improve care nationally. They offer support to everyone who is affected by epilepsy.

It really is a fantastic charity and I would appreciate any donation you could give, however small.

Thank you so much,

Em x
