24 Peaks Challenge · 21 September 2019

We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

I am of one a team of 8 women, who in September 2019 will be attempting the 24 Peaks Challenge in the Lake District. It involves climbing 24 Peaks in 2 days. We will trek for 12 hours each day, covering a distance of 28 miles.  There will be 12,500ft of ascent, which is the equivalent to trekking up Snowdon 4 times!

We are led by my friend Thea, whose daughter Lottie (a friend of my children, Maeve and Matthew) was successfully treated by GOSH for a very rare type of tumour called a lipoblastoma, which was found when Lottie was just 16 months old. Thanks to GOSH, Lottie is now a healthy and happy 5 year old girl.

This trek is to say thank you to GOSH and to support Thea in giving back to a charity that helped her family through such a difficult time.

Wish us luck!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
