We provide support and fund vital research to make myeloma history

Story

My name is Emily Baggott and I am 12 years old. In November 2020 my daddy died of a blood cancer called multiple myeloma. This rare disease accounts for only 2% of all cancers. It usually affects people aged 65 and over. My daddy was only 48 years old when he was diagnosed. There is currently no cure for this cancer, but it can be treated. With the right treatment, people can live with multiple myeloma for 10 years or more. However, treatment wasn't successful for my daddy. We did everything we could, but his myeloma was so aggressive that he lived with it for just two and a half years.

This is a cruel disease and it took my wonderful daddy away from me. So, I and my three amazing friends, Lola House, Bonnie Sandeman-Lomax and Nancy Taylor, all from Talbot Heath School, have decided to walk a marathon on the 15th of May to raise money for the charity Myeloma UK.

We have set out to walk 26 miles along the South West Coast Path. Taking on many steep hills, we predict this Jurassic challenge will take us 10 to 11 hours. Please support us with your kind donations so that every step we take will be one step closer to beating this disease forever.
