Working as Speech and Language Therapists on an acute stroke ward means we daily see the reality of stroke and the impact it has on an individual, and their loved ones. Stroke is devastating and many of its consequences can't always be seen. We work with people who find it difficult to communicate and we work with people who cannot swallow properly. Raising money for the Stroke Association means raising money for a charity that helps to improve the quality of life for our patients when they leave our care and face the reality of returning home a different person.
