On October 13th 2011 I will be with Becky Owen & James Brewer setting off to have a wander up a 'hill'. As well as this being an amazing experience, it will also be an phenominal achievement and ask everyone for their encouragement....and money.

My chosen charity is 'Elephant family', a well worthy cause of saving the Asian elephants. Considering that from the age of 2 I have wanted my very own live-in elephant, I thought this charity quite apt. I am sure Elephant family would be grateful for anything you can give, as would I.

Oh and did I mention the 'hill' is the largest free standing mountain in the world - Mount Kilimanjaro!!!

I will keep you all posted on our efforts and eventually our success.Thank you in advance.

31.05.11 - Just a little update. Brewer and I climbed Ben Nevis at the weekend. 3 hours to the summit, 2.5 coming down so 5.5 overall, which is a good time. Apart from walking a tad stiffly the next day there were no injuries. It was a good indication of how we would cope and what we need to work on.

15.09.11 - Last weekend Becky, Brewer & myself climbed Snowdon, in probably the worst conditions. A little tip....Gale force winds of 80mph are not ideal on a mountain. We all made it! I think we would be worrying if we didn't as we only have a month left. I'm ridiculously excited and hope these last few weeks fly by. Also because I've set up a training programme for the coming weeks and it makes me really miss luxuries like a social life....sad but true. Will be all worth it.
