Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon 2017 · 8 October 2017 ·
We lost my wonderful Dad two years ago aged just 59. He was less than two months away from his big 60.
This crazy kook was loved, liked and found weirdly wonderful by everyone that knew him. He is so missed.
When everything seemed really confusing and difficult, Macmillan really were there, whether is was nursing care during my dads journey, or whether it was the information on their website, the online communities they provide for those affected by cancer. Macmillan are also the organisation I credit with being able to say goodbye to my Dad in person. And that is priceless.
I've done a couple of Go Sober for Octobers for Macmillan now, raising over £2,000, and, this year I even started working for them in their Corporate Partnerships team - so you'll have no doubt heard my spiel about how amazing they are.
In 2017 I've decided to take on a new challenge or getting off my bum and running around a bit! More than a bit in fact, a whole half marathon through the Royal Parks. I've also coerced my fella Jonny to join me - so tgoether we're running a whole marathon.
Neither of us have run properly before, so this'll well hard! But we'll have my Dad inspiring us to go the distance!
