BANGLADESH 2014 VSO-ICS!

VSO - ICS (Youth Volunteering) · 31 December 2015 ·
Thanks for visiting my page!
On the 18th of January I’ll be heading off to Bangladesh for 3 months! Volunteering for VSO ICS, which is a volunteer scheme for 18-25 year olds. It brings together young people from diverse backgrounds within the UK and partners them with a young person from the country in which they are volunteering. Fighting poverty and combating global issues are some of the issues they tackle.
The money raised will go directly towards supporting the work of VSO and will enable them to continue sending youth volunteers to the developing world to make a lasting difference in disadvantaged and impoverished communities.
I will be spending three months living with a local family and working together on projects that aim to achieve the Millennium Development Goals laid out by the UN, these projects tend to address the issue of HIV/AIDS, poverty, agriculture, education and access to healthcare.
As part of my fundraising campaign I will be challenging myself to:
a sponsored 100km cycle ride, and have organised a bake sale/mufty day, a raffle/auction of promices, and a curry night (£1 of curry goes towards my fundraising). But if you have any better ideas then let me know!

Donations:
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
