Story

Dear friends and colleagues

My daughter Evie Ellen Sutlieff was just 4 years old when we found out that she had Type 1 Diabetes. It was all a very big shock to us as a family but over the last 2 years we have learnt (and still learning) how to deal with it and cope the best we can. Evie has been inspirational throughout it all…..she never complains about her Type 1 (yet) !!!

A lot of people don’t really understand Type 1 – but Evie’s pancreas doesn’t work like ours it doesn’t produce insulin to help her when she eats, so we have to inject insulin into her 5 times a day as well as check her blood sugars which is done by a finger pricker 6-8 times a day.  She really has to deal with a lot for a 6 year old.

As a family we would like to raise money for JDRF – this
stands for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and they are a charity that is dedicated to finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.

Our little family of 4 are going to do 5K walk with other families to raise as much money as possible for this great cause.  What with the great British weather at the moment its probably going to be a cold and wet walk.

We would be very grateful if you like to give Please help us raise money to help find a cure for Evie and all the other children with Type 1.
