Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. As many of you know my Mum, Kathy Hardaker-Jones, died of cancer earlier this year. She knew of my passion to run a marathon and the desire to make a difference through fund-raising. However, we both agreed the way to make this difference was to raise money for a small charity for whom this amount could be life-changing.

As a result I wanted to run the marathon for Auditory Verbal UK, a charity focused on ensuring deaf children have the same opportunities in life as hearing children. This is a charity personal to me, as close friends Chris and Claire from NCT, became involved after two of three of their children were born deaf. Chris and Claire have worked so hard to ensure that Alice and Ollie have every opportunity in life and have seen Auditory Verbal UK do the same for many other children. 

Your donation here will have a huge impact to AVUK and will do so in memory of my mum, Kathy. Kathy spent all of her life as a school librarian, working endlessly and patiently to give opportunities to all children.
