Vitality Bath Half Marathon 2017 · 12 March 2017 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Alzheimer's and dementia.

After forgetting their loved ones and themselves these people from all professions Teachers, doctors, scientist, nurses then forget how to speak , to feed themselves, to dress themselves and go to the toilet themselves. Alzheimer's & dementia is cruel disease. An estimated 850,000 people in the uk have dementia, with the number set to rise to more than a million by 2025. Not only have i lost a family member one to this disease but I see the ugly truth of this disease daily at work and it never gets easier. Living in a society where we are dementia aware means everyone with dementia can be treated with respect and dignity they deserve and not to feel ashamed or afraid. I've decided to run a half marathon on the 17th March in bath, as I've joined the Alzheimer's society all money I raise will be going directly to that charity. Anything spared will be appreciated have a great day X
