THIS YAM YAM CAN!!!!!
Hi guys, well this time I may have gone completely mad with this challenge but I've signed up, paid the fee and booked the time off so there's no going back. On the 23rd June 2012, 2.30pm I will be joining thousands of others and stepping into Lake Windermere and swimming a 1 mile route round it, all to raise some cash for a fantastic charity and complete the toughest challenge I've set myself yet. The Great North Swim has been going for a few years now and hopefully you may even see me on the highlights show on t.v during the summer (for all the right reasons I hope) and after a drunken chat with a friend of our JO- JO Taylor I agreed to sign up this year with her. IT'S GONNA BE COLD !!!!!!
As with the Swimathon - 100 lengths with a target of 1hr 15min or less, I will have hopefully completed during April (which also acts as a nice incentive to keep up my training) I am raising money for the Marie Curie Cancer Care fund in memory of my wonderful Nan once again. I know this year is financially tight for everyone and thanks to everyone who sponsored me for the swimathon. I realise it's all going to the same charity and therefore it's not that important which page you give on or you can happily check out and sponsor on both sites. I have a paper based form also and work have agreed to have a sponsor form and spare change jar behind the bar which once these challenges are over I intend on splitting evenly to both challenges so hopefully I can hit the individual fundraising targets of £175 (making £350) altogether.
So to sum up PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE spare some cash and sponsor me, these will be two big challenges for me given the fact the last 18 months my fitness has not been a priority. And I can honestly say I am scared of the open water swim as it will be something I have never ever done, however ...........................................THIS YAM YAM CAN !!!
