The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

Hi there! Lovely (and hopefully, generous) folk!

In July 2010, myself along with eleven other students from the University of Exeter will be trekking to Everest Base Camp in aid of the worthwhile charity Macmillan Cancer Support. All together, we aim to raise in excess of £12000 for Macmillan, the charity which supports people's lives who are affected by cancer by providing medical, practical and financial support.

In addition to this page, we shall also be doing as many fundraising events as possible to not only add to the totals but to also spread awareness. Our current fundraising event, here in Exeter, is an ink cartridge and old mobile phone recycling drive. We can send all the old cartridges off to be recycled and be paid for doing so! It's not a big money maker, but every little counts! We are also doing carboot sales and bag packing to boost the totals.

Mount Everest base camp is 5360 m high, which is well, pretty high. This means many many hours of running, walking and other forms of exercise will be done so that I will be able to complete the trek.

So please give what you can to help us raise our totals for Macmillan, it really is a worthwhile charity, and also enable all of us to say 'Wow, we've climbed up Mount Everest! (well,  to base camp!)

Thank you so much and will keep you all updated!
