Story
The Covid-19 pandemic is having a profound effect on young people, especially the most vulnerable in society, widening the socio-economic gap with ramifications for years ahead. 760,000 young people were not in education, training or employment before the pandemic, this is set to increase by an additional 640,000 by the end of the year. Young people need support now, more than ever, to achieve the future they deserve.
Since March 2020 JET has been adapting and innovating to this changing environment for young people and we are currently extending our life changing support through a new blended approach to our session delivery, taking full advantage of digital delivery means, in conjunction with core face to face sessions, our aim is to extend our reach.
With ongoing funding we can help as many young people in need as possible, across the UK, and in addition we will be implementing a new JET Futures programme; expanding our successful youth provision to age 24 to ensure that young people are guided into the right training and employment for them.
