Story

Do you ever wonder what goes on in the Neonatal unit ?, I never really did.. not until 29th January 2015 when my 10 day old daughter " Lola"  had 2 brain hemorages.

Nothing and I mean NOTHING prepares you for the realisation that you could lose your child, my husband Matt and I Walked into the unit ... to the sounds of machines .. beeping and little alarms going off... then we saw our baby girl lying there with wires all over her and needles in her little hands... I nearly had a mental break down... well nearly !.. until the staff came straight to us and showed us around...filled us in on everything then that night I became ill and couldn't see her for 4 days as I was hooked up to wires too, the staff brought pictures of her everyday and her blankets so I could smell her..... I know it's their job but they take it above and beyond ... they have compassion and love ... you can see it in their eyes when they look at your child... every single one of them from the nurses to the consultants are guardian angels ... not only did they help Lola but they also helped me, the staff gave me a bed so I could be close to her.. they wiped my tears and held me tight when she had her spinal taps and endless needles.... when I had to go home they rang me to tell me she was OK. ... and she is.. after 2 operations she came home and is doing well....

But now I want to say thank you.. I don't want to give the normal chocolates and flowers I want to show them how much it meant to Me , Matt and Lola's siblings for what they did.... the unit needs more equipment. . For feeding scans etc.. they need more room... they need rooms for families to come and be with their miracles.. more tiny outfits for our impatient little ones... that's where WE come in .... we need to help them to help our future ... any donation big or small builds up and mounts to alot...

We all know of someone who has had a baby poorly or even had babies poorly ourselves so.....

Please help me to say thank you for saving Lola and for saving our past , present and future babies !
