My darling little girl should be 20 this year.  I wonder how we would be celebrating?  I wonder what  sort of young woman she would have become?   We will make a cake on her birthday as we do every year, and sing to her.  She is such an important part of our lives, despite the tragedy of her death at  just 10 weeks.  Thankfully they were 10 truly magical weeks - 10 weeks of utter joy and wonderment at our beautiful, and perfect, and healthy and rosey cheeked little girl.  She died suddenly and unexpectedly and inexplicably.  The pain was indescribable.  

We will never know why she died, but we do know that Sudden Infant Death is on the decrease, thanks to the Lullaby Trust.  Their relentless research into causes and prevention has already had a huge impact on the amount of families struck by this tragedy.  Their ongoing support for bereaved families, and their help dealing with the fear of it happening to siblings of babies who have died is life changing.  

I am training hard for these 26.2 miles.  I train in the early mornings and whilst I run I think about Maisy.  She changed my life forever.  She made such a difference in her short 10 weeks.  I hope to raise as much money as I can for the Lullaby Trust and for the great work they do for bereaved parents and the ongoing work towards reducing the number of babies that die much too soon.
