Story

Emma Trent is Notts County FITC's Health Manager with a pivotal role in providing life changing projects to people across Nottinghamshire. She has been with the charity for 14 years and continues to manage outstanding programmes to those that need it the most. She has agreed to take on the ultimate boxing challenge which includes an 8 week intensive training course, culminating in the boxing ring for a full one on one contest with a fellow warrior.

We asked Emma a few questions about this challenge.

So, the obvious one first. Have you ever boxed before?

Nope! The nearest I have got is teaching Body Combat classes many many years ago which is not the same!!

So why did you sign up?

I have always loved challenging myself. The idea of a 2-month build-up of intensive training is daunting but I'm excited about throwing myself into the ring for the first time ever! With over 14 years under my belt working at FITC, I thought I’d have a go. What could possibly go wrong?...

What are you going to gain from this event?

Maybe some new teeth!

You've been with FITC for a long time. Can you give us a brief description of your role at FITC?

I am the Health Manager responsible for developing a range of community projects to help combat local health inequalities, particularly around early intervention within primary schools, and long-term health inequalities such as cancer rehabilitation and cardiovascular disease.

This isn't going to be easy. Why are you putting yourself through this to  support FITC?

Being a long-standing member of the FITC team, I am fully aware of the hard work and dedication that goes in behind the scenes and on the ground. I thought it was time to replicate that in this charity event…

Please do show your support for Emma by donating on this page and making sure she isn't putting herself through this for nothing. All funds raised will go directly into the projects that FITC run and that make a huge difference to a variety of people across the County.

GOOD LUCK EMMA!
