We are moving further, faster to help everyone affected by a brain tumour

Story

Our friend’s son Silas Pullen died just after Christmas, from a major brain tumour aged just 11 (see the pictures of him below).  For those of you that have children, please just try and imagine how devastating this is to a normal happy family.  Sarah and I both have children, and get that ‘pit-of-your-stomach’ feeling, which, just the thought of this brings.  Silas was a normal jovial, funny, cheeky lad.  He fought hard for 18 months with 2 major brain ops.  It’s just so hard to believe and unfair.   So, Emma Beckham and Sarah Alexander wanted to do something about it and to raise money, and as much of the bloody stuff as possible to help others out there like Silas.

We wanted to get out there and actually do something to try and raise money to help to find a cure for the horror, that is cancer, in the form of Brain Tumours.  Sadly, this type of cancer doesn’t get enough funding despite being one of the major killers of adults and children under 40.  So please please donate anything you can!

Seeing as Emma broke her leg last year and is still on the mend, a 26 mile marathon was never going to happen.  So a swim seemed the obvious choice, but it had to be challenging.  Ok, let’s do a mile.  Yes cool, no problem… IN THE DOCKLANDS! Errrr (pause), ok!   With a fear of open water, boats and sharks, we decided that this would be the perfect test. We will be tracking our training programme and our first steps into the unknown on a blog  (we have NEVER swum in outdoor water… sad but true!)

So if you can donate literally anything, and we would be so grateful.  We want to raise as much dosh as possible to give to these clever scientist people, to try and stop this disease killing our children and families.
