Arc Light is a charity in York that provides support for people at all stages of homelessness from ex-rough sleepers to those at risk of sleeping rough. They use professional counselors, and volunteers to provide support for as long as is needed which empowers individuals to make positive changes in their lives. 

At a time when there are stringent budget cuts and policies affecting the most vulnerable in society it is vital to work collectively to give everyone the support they deserve. 

This is a charity that has a real and lasting impact on the people living in our community. Having lived in two cities, Bristol and York, where homelessness is prolific and I have never known how to make an impact. This is my first half marathon so I am using this opportunity to raise money for a cause I feel passionately about.
