I have been lucky enough to win the Peoples Choice Award for 2020 at my work, which means I am able to select a charity that the company will raise money for in 2021. I have chosen Heartbeat as my charity because it’s one that’s close to me for personal reasons. As many of you know my best friend went to sleep and didn’t wake up nearly a year ago. Vicky attended Heartbeat because she had a heart condition which was managed by attending Heartbeat. She enjoyed attending the sessions which included doing exercises designed to try and strengthen her heart.

Heartbeat have been operating for over 42 years with over 9 sites housing Cardiac Rehabilitation Centre's which users can attend twice a week for monitoring and to help prevent their health from deteriorating. Each user is given a tailored program and makes a voluntary contribution to use the facility. It costs more then 1 million a year to run, all done without any government funding! Over the next year I hope to raise as much money as possible through different events.
