NNPMRT is a charity providing vital search and rescue cover for the whole of the Northumbria Police area. The team is made up entirely of volunteers and having been a team member for three years, I can vouch for the fact that they are a brilliant bunch!

As a charity, the team relies on donations in order to keep us running and maintain our ability to provide a 'professional' service across a vast and largely remote area. This year alone, the team have responded to over 80 incidents- ranging from responding to injured hikers, to searching for vulnerable missing people, to assisting in resilience efforts when the region was hit by 'the beast from the east'.

Currently the team are fundraising towards a third emergency response vehicle, which would improve our coverage of the area and help reduce response times. To boost our fundraising efforts, I'm dusting off my trainers to take part in the Great North Run.
