We Create wildflower habitats to help protect Britain's bumblebees

Story

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving Page. I’m fundraising to support the great work that Bumblebee Conservation Trust do.

Next March, I'm going on the longest zip line in Europe and the fastest one in the world (over 100mph).  It will be absolutely terrifying as heights make me nauseous.

I thought long and hard about who to raise money for as I'm also a big supporter of WaterAid. However, I thought I'd go with a smaller charity as I'm pretty sure they don't receive as much funding but they carry out good, worthwhile work.

We are facing a fundamental problem with the decline of bees and other pollinators.  They have an absolutely crucial role in pollinating many of our important crops - without them we will face higher food costs and potential shortages.

Bumble Bee Conservation Trust support the conservation of all bumblebees.  They raise awareness and increase understanding about bumblebees and the social, economic, environmental and cultural benefits which they and other pollinators provide.

It would be great if you could donate and share my Page so I can raise as much as possible to help them Create wildflower habitats to help protect Britain's bumblebees. Thank you.

About the charity

Bumblebees are in decline because of a loss of their habitats. Our landscape is changing, over 97% of the UK's grasslands have been lost in the past 70 years. We work to put much needed flowers back into the countryside to benefit our bumblebees and other wildlife.
