Emmaus Bristol Lifesaving Challenge

Red The Dog is raising money for Emmaus Bristol

Companion challenges · 24 November 2021

This winter, our team aims to raise money for the Emmaus Bristol Lifesaving Challenge to purchase a much-needed local community defibrillator and training for the Stokes Croft area of Bristol.

Story

Simon: My name is Simon and I am walking 3 miles each day from December to March. Walking has helped me stay healthy, even when I was homeless. Now that I am safe and well, I want to help other people. There are lots of homeless people in the area we are in and a defibrillator could really help them or anyone!

Richard: I am going to walk into Stokes Croft throughout December. I am doing this for Emmaus!

Gianni: I have been a smoker for 47 years, starting at age 15! Now that I am 63 years old, it is time to stop. I will give up smoking and also alcohol, as although I am not a big drinker, it makes me want to smoke! I have already ordered some nicotine patches. I really want to do this for my health and  to raise money for a defibrillator. I volunteer in our Stokes Croft shop and there are many people around  who are at risk of heart problems. A defibrillator will give me peace of mind that if anything kicks off, we can help.

Peter: I am going to cycle to Stokes Croft December to March, whatever the weather. This challenge is important and I want to do something.

PJ: I am going to bike into work a minimum of twice a week. I want to do this to help raise money for a defibrillator and also to get fit:)

Emmaus Bristol is raising money for a community defibrillator available to the public. Please support us to so that we can support Emmaus Bristol to install a life-saving defibrillator. Thank you!
