Hi, My name is Emily and about 3 years ago I was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (Bone cancer)! As you can imagine it was a pretty tough blow to take when you're 17!

I was studying Catering at the Broadstairs Campus of East Kent College at the time (which I love!) and I was also a keen netballer! However life like's to be a bit of a pain sometimes!

So it's been a bit of a rocky road, my primary tumour in my right thigh was removed thankfully through chemo and surgery, however a tumour was discovered in my pelvis as well, since then I've had another cycle of chemo for a lung tumour, radiotherapy for the same lung tumour and 2 brain tumour removal surgeries and a little more radio for my brain - I just can't get enough!!

Along with my incredible friends and family, Teenage Cancer Trust have been with me every step of the way! They have supported me in any way they could and have really helped my family and myself through some tough times! TCT make having cancer as a teenager/young adult so much easier to cope with, with dedicated nurses, support workers, arts, crafts and activity volunteers, specialised wards (in which you can have someone stay with you overnight!), pool tables, games and movie rooms, exercise and relaxation classes and specialised food nights (Dominos night being my favourite!) we really have it all! It makes the whole experience of cancer so much more bearable, almost normal!

So I wanted to give something back! When I was first diagnosed my awesome Chef Tutors set up an event called 'Emily's Dinner' in which we manage to get lots of local produce and make a bit of a banquet for guests who donate money to Teenage Cancer Trust for the meal we throw! It's become a bit of an annual thing which the Super supportive guests really seem to enjoy - the raffle, auction and alcohol helps!!

I was asked this year by a few friends if there were other ways they could donate? The tickets for Banquet tend to sell pretty quick as it's become a pretty big thing at our college so I've decided to set up this page!

As I've heard many of my other friends that I've met through the Teenage Cancer Trust say, without TCT I don't think I'd be here today! But at the moment they only have the facilities to reach 1 out of every 2 teens/ young adults effected by cancer!

I'm determined we can change this!!
