We hope you can make Ernest's 70th Birthday celebration!
Instead of a gift, Ernest and I would very much appreciate a donation to the Royal Voluntary Service Charity.
"Royal Voluntary Service volunteers provide practical support for older people in need so that they can live more independent lives. They provide companionship for lonely or isolated people, help with practical tasks like shopping and driving clients to appointments and deliver books from local libraries.
To help older people stay active and connected to their local community, our volunteers run social clubs and activities, exercise classes and hobby groups, lunch clubs and community cafés. These are warm, welcoming places to meet up with friends old and new, enjoy refreshments and interesting activities and learn new skills.
In hospitals, our volunteers provide companionship for older patients that don’t have family nearby, run physical and mental exercise classes to support recovery, help settle clients back at home after a hospital stay and run shops, cafés and trolley services."
