Alzheimer's Society - Memory Walk Marathon Northern Ireland · 9 October 2011 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Hi guys!

(For a really short edited video of our epic trip, shot just on my phone camera, just send me an e-mail!)

We made it! From starting out at 8.10am and arriving back at 5.20pm, our journey was initially extremely wet, windy and muddy down past the Giants Causeway, then climbing up again (160 steps!) to continue across the cliff tops with the most amazing rugged scenery. The half way point was (I kid you not!) in a cave, with sandwiches, cereal bars, water and soft drinks, before returning via the same route, happily in less windy and wet conditions! Exhausted but happy, we treated ourselves to a hot bath of Guinness and Bushmills Whiskey! (shouldn't that be and Guinness and Bushmills Whiskey?)

A big thankyou to Yvonne for carrying my rucksack for a mile whilst I sorted out my lower back problem, I really couldn't have done it without you darling!

And a huge thankyou to you all once again for your extremely generous support! I promise I won't ask for any sponsorship for anything else, unless it's a drinking marathon!

And offers of get togethers for celebratory drinks always welcome! My round!

Love, Ernie x
