Story

Hello,

As part of GDA's 100th anniversary celebrations they are looking for 100 people to take on a challenge - it can be anything they want: run, walk, climb, bake, swim, cycle, cook. Anything.

After chatting to Esme about it the other night, she thought she might like to do something to help the deaf children that GDA supports. So, we've decided that she could do a Park Run on 4th August to raise some pennies. Her only stipulations are:

1. that she gets a medal at the end
2. she can run dressed as Snow White
3. that Jenny from GDA is there to cheer her on

Of course, she would also love to raise a good chunk of money for such an important charity, so anything you can spare to help her on her way would be very much appreciated. AND, for the first £100 that each of the 100 people raise for GDA, a kind donor will match it, meaning GDA could stand to benefit from an extra £10,000!

You may recognise the little girl in the photo with Esme. That is Maisie, the OSCAR winning Maisie Sly, who is profoundly deaf, and who Esme has become slightly enchanted by. This little childhood friendship is all that's right in the world, where disability and differences don't matter, but the chance to make a new friend is everything.

I'm sure by now you know the score with JustGiving. It's safe, secure and easy to use.

Thank you from Esme, from the bottom of her tiny little running shoes.
